Family Day 2009

Traditionally a fall event scheduled in conjunction with athletic events, Family Day activities provide an opportunity for parents to visit their son/daughter on campus. A meeting is scheduled for interested families on Saturday afternoon to hear campus updates and to provide an opportunity for questions, concerns, comments or accolades with campus administrators.

Attend to receive updates regarding upcoming campus improvements, meet administrators, and become more connected to UIndy.

2:30 p.m.–4:15 p.m.

Concurrent Sessions for First-time College Parents

2:30–3:15 p.m. Session Block 1

  • Explaining the Core, Schwitzer 004
    Bachelor’s-seeking, undergraduate students must complete at least 124 hours to graduate, many outside the student’s major in what we term the core – or general education – requirements. This session explains the importance of the courses and general information of the types of classes required.
     
  • Study Abroad, Schwitzer 012
    Representatives from the International Division will present and answer questions about UIndy’s opportunities to Study Abroad through varying lengths of study, times of the year, costs to anticipate, etc.
     

3:30–4:15 p.m. Session Block 2

  • Internships & the Career Planning Process, Schwitzer 010
    Career Services will present information regarding the importance of the internship experience, how it fits into the big picture of the career search process, and what else needs to be considered.
